Invitation to meeting in The Norway-Tunisian Association, 10th of June t 18:30 the Tunisian Embassy

The Norway-Tunisia Association

Meeting and General Assembly
Tuesday June 10th at 18:30

In the Tunisian Embassy, Drammensveien 82 c, 0271 - Oslo

Dear friends and members,

We are pleased to invite you to our meeting which is taking place on Tuesday June 10th at 18:30 in the premises of the Tunisian Embassy, Drammensveien 82 c.

It is impressive to witness the wind towards democracy that is blowing in and around Tunisia after the nearly unanimous vote in the Constitutional Assembly for a new and liberal Constitution.
Most countries in our part of the world are lining up to assist Tunisia in its delicate process to become the first democracy in the Arab world.
In Oslo, the Tunisian Embassy took the initiative of organizing a successful Business symposium with solid representation from public and private sectors in the two countries.
Our association has had a promising meeting with Secretary of State Morten Høglund in UD to promote public support to private joint ventures between Norway and Tunisia, and to reconsider
the warning for tourists considering Tunisia.

On this background we have succeeded in having as our speaker this time Hassine Doghri, a profiled and influential Tunisian businessman/investor and also the Honorary Consul General for Norway in Tunis.

The meeting will start with a very quick General Assembly:
• Approval of summons
• Board report
• Accounts
• Election

.At the end of the meeting we shall all enjoy the Embassy’s famous Tunisian buffet with refreshments.
Please, inform us about your attendance, at the latest on Wednesday 4th of June.
We hope to see many of you.

Best regards,

Petter (91 51 11 99) and Leif (91 53 44 55)

    MEETING TUNINOR

    Dear friends and members,

We are pleased to announce this new opportunity to meet.
Our past Ambassador, Mr. Nabil Ammar, has regretfully returned to Tunis.
It is a pleasure, however, at this occasion, to have the occasion to make the acquaintance of the new Tunisian Ambassador to Norway, Madame Sihim Seltene, who will be our host for the evening.

Our topic this time will be WATER. Some 97% of all water on earth is salt sea water.
Large regions of the planet are, however, increasingly experiencing insufficient availability of fresh water for drinking and irrigation. Tunisia is quickly approaching this situation and is starting to take measures of precaution.
Our speaker this evening will be Mr. Christian Wee, Director of Market Development with the Norwegian company Aqualyng, supplier of low energy systems of water desalination, turning sea water into fresh drinking water. He has been visiting Tunisia this summer to initiate a cooperation with Tunisian authorities and private interests, such as the hotel sector. Mr. Wee will present to us the global fresh water situation, as well as the situation in Tunisia.

If our favorite tour operator, Sissel Nordhagen, is available, we shall also try to have her make a brief presentation of our planned next visit to Tunisia in October/November next year. This time we intend to include an optional 4 days excursion to the desert.

In the good tradition, the meeting will end up in friendly conversation over the Embassy’s Tunisian buffet.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

    MEETING TUNINOR

We are pleased to invite you to our meeting which is taking place on June 10th, and not one week earlier, and not one week earlier, as previously announced.

Our main speaker shall be Mr. Jan-Erik Solheim, Professor (emeritus) in Astro-Physics at the University of Oslo. He shall present :
The climate is changing, as always. But is it man-made?

But before him, Sissel Nordhagen, our extraordinary guide at the Association’s tour to Tunisia last year will have ten minutes to present her ideas for our next visit to Tunisia, including some days to the desert. We are aiming to organize this tour in the autumn of next year, - not this year.

Our meeting will start with a very brief General Assembly:
    - Approval of summons
    - Board Report
    - Accounts
    - Election

Please, remember to pay your dues for 2010 to our account: 6222.11.24478, Norsk Tunisisk Forening
